Bill overview
This bill, the Veterans Health Care Freedom Act, aims to give veterans more choice in their healthcare within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) system. It establishes a three-year pilot program where veterans can select their own healthcare providers, including VA facilities and community providers, without certain previous restrictions. After the pilot, the VA would permanently allow veterans to choose providers and receive care at any VA facility, regardless of location, expanding access to care.
