Bill overview
This bill would give states more flexibility in designing and implementing Medicaid programs. It allows states to approve their own pilot or demonstration projects, using electronic benefits transfer (EBT) cards to help recipients purchase primary care services and medications. At the end of the year, any remaining funds on the EBT card would be converted to a cash payment, and recipients would be offered catastrophic health insurance. The bill also includes restrictions on abortion coverage within these demonstration projects.
