Bill overview
The Weather Innovation for the Next Generation Act (WING Act) of 2025 directs the National Weather Service to research and develop solutions to minimize the impact of obstructions, such as wind turbines and buildings, on weather radar detection and prediction. The bill establishes a research program to identify and test new technologies, including signal processing, data replacement, and utilizing meteorological towers, with the goal of creating commercially viable mitigation strategies.
