Bill overview
The LOCAL Act aims to improve how the federal government manages its lands and resources. It directs the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to study the possibility of relocating some of its offices to Grand Junction, Colorado, or other western states. The bill also seeks to enhance tourism, conservation, outdoor recreation, grazing, and responsible energy production on these lands. Ultimately, it intends to increase efficiency within public land agencies and better coordinate with local communities.
