Bill overview
This bill aims to eliminate two taxes currently imposed on the gaming industry – an excise tax on wagers and an annual occupational tax. These taxes are applied to businesses and individuals involved in accepting wagers, both within and outside of states that authorize gambling. By repealing these taxes, the bill seeks to simplify the tax code and reduce the financial burden on gaming operators and related businesses. The changes would take effect starting January 1, 2025.
