Bill overview
The Mudslide Recovery Act aims to help communities recover from mudslides that follow wildfires by establishing a pilot grant program. This program will provide competitive grants to states, tribes, local governments, fire departments, and non-profit organizations to implement innovative solutions for repairing damage caused by these events. The program is being initiated by the Department of the Interior and Homeland Security through FEMA. The legislation includes an initial appropriation of $5 million per year for seven years.
