Bill overview
The Safe Bases Act of 2025 would allow active-duty service members to carry concealed firearms on military installations. The Department of Defense (DOD) is required to create a single authority to issue permits for this purpose. To be eligible, service members must not be legally prohibited from owning firearms and must be on active duty. This legislation aims to provide a process for service members to carry firearms on base.
