Bill overview
This bill directs the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to create and maintain a plan for quickly developing and distributing diagnostic tests in response to public health emergencies, such as chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear threats, or emerging infectious diseases. The plan will consider domestic testing capacity, new technologies, and medical supply needs, and it must involve collaboration with various public and private entities. HHS is required to publish the initial plan within a year and update it every three years.
