Bill overview
This bill, the Securing Innovation in Financial Regulation Act, creates two new offices within the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to focus on financial technology. It establishes the Strategic Hub for Innovation and Financial Technology (FinHub) at the SEC to support engagement with emerging financial technologies and the LabCFTC at the CFTC to promote responsible innovation, provide information to the Commission, and advise on regulatory issues. Both offices are required to report annually on their activities to Congress.
