Bill overview
This bill creates a fund called the ‘Imported Seafood Safety Standards Act Fund’ to improve the safety and oversight of imported shrimp. The fund will be financed by a portion of duties collected on shrimp imports. These funds will be used to inspect imported shrimp for antibiotic contamination and forced labor, as well as to support domestic shrimp consumption promotion efforts.
