Bill overview
The Aid Accountability Act of 2025 aims to strengthen oversight and accountability for U.S. foreign aid. It modifies existing law to increase penalties for individuals and organizations that violate requirements related to the allocation and use of foreign assistance funds. Specifically, it allows for termination of federal employment and fiscal liability for those who knowingly violate these requirements, and prohibits future federal funding for grantees, sub-grantees, contractors, and recipients who violate the rules. The Secretary of State will be responsible for determining violations and reporting them to Congress.
