Bill overview
The Pony Up Act requires the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to reimburse citizens who are charged late fees or penalties for mail payments that were delayed in the mail. Specifically, if a bill, notice, or payment is delivered more than 12 days after the due date for a bill or notice, or more than 5 days after the due date for a payment, the USPS must pay the citizen the full amount of the fees and penalties. The bill also includes provisions for appealing decisions and requires the USPS to report on mail delivery delays and prioritization practices.
