Bill overview
The American CANS Act aims to improve consumer awareness of where canned goods are produced. It changes the rules for country-of-origin labeling on canned agricultural products, requiring the label to be prominently displayed on the front of the can or stamped/printed on the top. This will help consumers make informed purchasing decisions about the products they buy. The changes will take effect 18 months after the bill becomes law.
