Bill overview
This bill creates a new office within the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) called the Office of Public Engagement and Participation. This office will support public involvement in the NRC’s work, advocate for the public interest, and provide guidance to individuals participating in NRC proceedings. The bill also allows the NRC to compensate people who face significant financial hardship when participating in these proceedings, particularly if they contribute substantially to a positive outcome.
