To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit AI-based impersonation of Federal officials.
This Act may be cited as the AI Impersonation Prevention Act of 2025
.
Section 912 of title 18, United States Code, is amended—
by striking Whoever
and inserting the following:
by adding at the end the following:
In this section—
the term impersonates means to falsely represent oneself as another identifiable individual, whether real or fictitious, in a manner reasonably likely to cause another person to believe the content is authentic.
Should any specific part of this Act or the amendments made by this Act be deemed invalid, the rest of it shall remain in effect.
