IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
A BILL
To prohibit the District of Columbia government from entering into Sister City relationships with jurisdictions located in foreign adversary countries, and for other purposes.
This Act may be cited as the District of Columbia Sister City Integrity Act
.
Sister Cityrelationships between District of Columbia and foreign adversaries
The District of Columbia government may not enter into any Sister City relationship with a jurisdiction located in a foreign adversary country.
In this section, the term foreign adversary country has the meaning given the term covered nation in section 4872(f)(2) of title 10, United States Code.
If a Sister City relationship between the District of Columbia and a jurisdiction located in a foreign adversary country is in effect on the date of the enactment of this Act, the District of Columbia shall terminate the relationship not later than the earlier of—
the date provided under the terms of the relationship; or
180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.
The District of Columbia may not use any Federal funds to provide liaison and outreach services to the diplomatic and international communities unless the District certifies to the President that the District is in compliance with this Act.
