A BILL
To amend the Public Health Service Act to ensure area career and technical education schools are eligible for mental health and substance use disorder service grants.
This Act may be cited as the CTE Student Mental Health and Wellness Act
.
Section 520E–2 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 290bb–36b) is amended—
in subsections (a) through (f)—
by striking an institution of higher education
each place it appears and inserting a covered institution
;
by striking the institution of higher education
each place it appears and inserting the covered institution
; and
by striking institutions of higher education
each place it appears and inserting covered institutions
;
in subsection (c)—
in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking Any institution of higher education
and inserting Any covered institution
; and
in paragraph (5), by striking institution of higher education supported
and inserting covered institution–supported
; and
an area career and technical education school (as defined in section 3 of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006); and
an institution of higher education (as defined in section 101 of the Higher Education Act of 1965).
