Bill overview
This bill, the Forest Legacy Management Flexibility Act, amends the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978 to expand the ability of states to approve organizations for the acquisition, holding, and management of conservation easements under the Forest Legacy Program. Specifically, it allows states to authorize a broader range of qualified organizations, including those accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, to participate in this program, and establishes conditions under which these easements could revert to the state or another approved organization if the managing organization fails to meet certain requirements.
