Bill overview
This bill officially recognizes the Mono Lake Kootzaduka’a Tribe as a federally recognized tribe. It grants the tribe and its members eligibility for federal services and benefits, regardless of location, and extends hunting and fishing rights to all federal lands within the tribe’s ancestral homeland. The bill also requires the tribe to establish a membership roll and for the Department of the Interior to potentially place certain land in Mono County, California, into trust for the tribe’s benefit.
