Bill overview
The Tribal Internet Expansion Act of 2025 aims to improve internet access for Native American tribes and communities with significant Native American populations. It does this by expanding the existing ‘universal service’ provision of the Communications Act to include tribal lands, dependent Indian communities, and areas with high concentrations of Native Americans. The goal is to ensure that internet service in these areas is reasonably comparable in cost to service in urban areas. This legislation seeks to bridge the digital divide and promote economic opportunity for these communities.
