Bill overview
The FARM Act, or Foreign Adversary Risk Management Act, aims to protect the U.S. agricultural industry from foreign influence. It places the Secretary of Agriculture on the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and requires CFIUS to review investments that could lead to foreign control of U.S. agricultural businesses. The bill also expands the definition of critical infrastructure and critical technologies to include agricultural systems and supply chains, and mandates annual reports on foreign influence within the agricultural sector.
