Bill overview
This bill, the Renewable Fuel for Ocean-Going Vessels Act, amends the Clean Air Act to allow fuels used in ocean-going vessels to qualify for renewable fuel credits. Specifically, it expands the definition of ‘renewable fuel’ to include fuels used in these vessels, potentially incentivizing the use of cleaner fuels for international shipping. The Environmental Protection Agency will need to create regulations to implement this change and provide a report to Congress on its progress.
