Bill overview
The Trafficking Survivors Relief Act of 2025 aims to provide relief for individuals who were victims of human trafficking and have subsequently been convicted of or arrested for Federal offenses. It allows for the vacating of convictions and the expungement of arrest records for certain offenses, particularly level A and level C offenses, based on the individual’s status as a trafficking victim. The bill also introduces a new defense related to duress in Federal trafficking cases and mandates reporting requirements for U.S. Attorneys regarding post-conviction relief motions.
