Bill overview
This bill, the Cutting COSTS Act of 2025, aims to help small farmers cover the costs associated with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) audits. It establishes a program where the Secretary of Agriculture will provide payments to eligible producers – those with a small farm income and/or are beginning farmers – to offset the expenses of these audits. The program will be funded by the Commodity Credit Corporation and require the Secretary to report on its effectiveness in improving market access for participating farmers.
