Bill overview
This bill, the Small Nonprofit Retirement Security Act of 2025, aims to help small, tax-exempt nonprofits establish and maintain retirement plans. It expands existing tax credits for startup costs and auto-enrollment programs to include these organizations. Specifically, nonprofits can now claim a credit based on either the credit amount for their plan or the amount of payroll taxes they pay, whichever is lower. The bill also includes provisions to ensure the funding of Social Security Trust Funds is not negatively impacted.
