Bill overview
This bill, the Interactive Federal Review Act, aims to improve how the federal government assesses the environmental impact of highway projects. It encourages the use of digital tools, specifically interactive platforms and 3D digital models (often called ‘digital twins’), to speed up the environmental review process and better engage the public. The Department of Transportation will select projects to demonstrate these technologies and provide guidance to project sponsors on their effective use.
