Bill overview
The Combatting China’s Pilfering of Intellectual Property Act (CCP IP Act) aims to hold individuals and entities in China accountable for stealing intellectual property from U.S. companies. It authorizes the President to impose sanctions, including asset blocking and visa restrictions, on those determined to be involved in significant theft or receiving stolen intellectual property. The bill also establishes a process for waivers and reporting on sanctioned individuals and entities, and restricts visa issuance for high-ranking Chinese officials and military personnel.
