Bill overview
The Climate Justice Grants Act establishes a program within the Environmental Protection Agency to provide grants to Tribal governments, local governments, nonprofits, and community-based organizations. These grants will support projects designed to address climate justice concerns within environmental justice communities – defined as populations of color, indigenous communities, or low-income communities disproportionately affected by environmental hazards. The funds can be used for a variety of initiatives, including community-led projects focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate resilience.
