This bill, the Living Organ Donor Tax Credit Act, would allow living donors who donate a kidney, liver, lung, pancreas, intestine, bone marrow, or part thereof for transplantation to claim a refundable tax credit. The credit could be up to $5,000 and would cover expenses like travel, lodging, medical costs, paperwork, legal fees, and lost wages related to the donation and follow-up care. Reimbursed expenses and donations made outside of the United States are not eligible.
