Bill overview
The Intergovernmental Critical Minerals Task Force Act establishes a task force to coordinate efforts between federal, tribal, state, and local governments to reduce the United States’ reliance on China and other countries for critical minerals. The task force will assess national security risks, make recommendations for strengthening domestic supply chains, and identify alternative sources. It will also consult with a wide range of stakeholders and submit regular reports to Congress. The bill also directs the Government Accountability Office to study the regulatory landscape for improving domestic critical mineral supply chains.
