Bill overview
The Have You Served Act authorizes the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide grants to states and American Indian/Alaska Native tribes to implement ‘Ask the Question Campaigns.’ These campaigns aim to encourage human services professionals, local governments, and community providers to inquire about a recipient’s military service to better connect them with VA and other veteran support resources. The bill also directs the VA to provide technical assistance to grantees and coordinate with federal agencies to expand these campaigns.
