Bill overview
This bill establishes the Joint Task Force to Counter Illicit Synthetic Narcotics (JTF–ISN) to combat the opioid crisis. The JTF–ISN will be composed of representatives from various federal agencies, including the Department of Justice, Treasury, Homeland Security, and State. It aims to improve information sharing and coordination among these agencies to disrupt trafficking networks, investigate crimes, and address the role of foreign entities, particularly China, in the opioid trade. The task force will report to the Attorney General and provide regular updates to Congress.
