Bill overview
The Investing in American Workers Act creates a tax credit for employers who provide training to their employees. This credit, up to 20% of qualified training expenses, is designed to encourage workforce development. The credit is available for training conducted through registered apprenticeship programs, programs listed under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, or certain career and technical education programs. The bill also includes provisions for small businesses to elect to apply the credit against their payroll taxes and simplifies the filing process for small businesses.
