Bill overview
This bill, the Parity for Athletic Recreation Act (PAR Act), removes restrictions on how certain tax credits can be used for private or commercial golf courses and country clubs. Currently, these facilities are excluded from receiving some tax benefits. The bill amends the Internal Revenue Code to allow these types of facilities to qualify for specific tax credits, primarily the empowerment zone employment and business opportunity zone credits. The changes will apply to tax obligations issued and individuals starting employment after the bill’s enactment.
