Bill overview
The Caring for All Families Act amends the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to expand eligibility for leave. It allows employees to take unpaid leave to care for a domestic partner, parent-in-law, adult child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, uncle, or aunt, or another related individual who has a serious health condition. Additionally, it introduces new leave options for parental involvement and family wellness, allowing employees to take up to 24 hours per year to attend school or community activities or meet family care needs. This bill also clarifies certification requirements and expands the definition of ‘family relationship’ to include broader connections.
