Bill overview
This bill requires the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to investigate and report on why the Department of Veterans Affairs experienced funding shortfalls in fiscal year 2024 and is expected to in fiscal year 2025. The GAO will examine the reasons behind these shortfalls, including spending discrepancies and inaccurate projections. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs will also submit a report to Congress, and both reports will be shared with relevant congressional committees. Ultimately, the goal is to understand and address the root causes of these funding issues.
