Bill overview
The Do or Dye Act aims to restrict the use of certain artificial food colorings in the United States. Starting December 31, 2025, Red No. 40, Yellow No. 5, Yellow No. 6, Green No. 3, Blue No. 1, and Blue No. 2 will be considered unsafe for use in food. Subsequently, starting December 31, 2026, any color additives substantially similar to these listed will also be deemed unsafe. This legislation seeks to address potential health concerns associated with these colorings.
