Overview
This bill allows the Secretary of the Interior to extend existing leases within National Parks without holding a new competitive bidding process. The extension can be granted to lessees who have held the lease for at least five years and are currently meeting the lease terms. The Director of the National Park Service must also determine that extending the lease is beneficial for the park’s administration. The bill also directs the Secretary to update regulations to reflect this new authority.
