Bill overview
The Advancing Access to Telehealth Act makes temporary telehealth flexibilities established during the COVID-19 public health emergency permanent under Medicare. This bill expands who can provide telehealth services, including rural health clinics, federally qualified health centers, audiologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. It also removes certain in-person requirements for specific telehealth services like home dialysis and mental health care, and allows for audio-only telehealth services.
