Bill overview
The Help Extend Auditory Relief Act of 2025 (HEAR Act) aims to expand Medicare coverage for hearing aids and related hearing rehabilitation services. This bill amends the Social Security Act to include coverage for aural rehabilitation, comprehensive audiologic assessments, hearing aid fittings, and related instructional services for individuals with hearing loss who haven’t recently used hearing aids. It also clarifies definitions related to hearing rehabilitation and hearing aids, and adjusts Medicare coverage rules to accommodate more frequent hearing rehabilitation services.
