Bill overview
This bill proposes to transfer approximately 3,156 acres of land currently managed by the Bureau of Land Management to the Las Vegas Tribe of Paiute Indians for trust status. This action would formally recognize the tribe’s land ownership and grant them greater control over the land. The bill also includes provisions related to renewable energy transmission, gaming, and water rights, as well as a repeal of a previous law. It is contingent on the tribe establishing boundaries and agreeing to a right-of-way for transmission lines.
