Bill overview
The Porch Pirates Act of 2025 aims to strengthen protections for packages delivered by private and commercial carriers. Currently, these packages receive limited legal protections when left at the curb. This bill seeks to extend the same protections afforded to packages transported as interstate or foreign commerce to packages awaiting collection by their recipients. It does this by clarifying that individuals can pursue legal action against those who steal or unlawfully take packages left for pickup by a carrier.
