Bill overview
This bill expands eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program to include teachers who participate in Fulbright exchange programs. Specifically, it recognizes participation in the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program and Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Program as equivalent to public service employment for the purposes of loan forgiveness. This would allow more educators who have undertaken international teaching assignments through Fulbright to qualify for debt relief. The bill amends the Higher Education Act to make this change.
