The Latino Youth Mental Health Empowerment Act aims to improve mental health outcomes for Hispanic and Latino youth by establishing a national awareness and outreach campaign. It directs the Department of Health and Human Services to conduct studies on existing mental health campaigns, create culturally-competent awareness and outreach materials, and investigate the crisis facing Hispanic and Latino youth regarding mental health. Furthermore, the bill mandates a study on the mental health workforce shortage within the Hispanic and Latino community and proposes recommendations to address it.
