Bill overview
This bill establishes a task force within the Department of Justice, called ELDER, to specifically address the growing problem of elder abuse experienced by LGBTQI+ individuals. The task force will study the issue, develop best practices for prevention and response, create educational materials, and coordinate efforts between local, state, and federal law enforcement. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the protection and safety of older LGBTQI+ adults.
