Bill overview
The Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act of 2025 aims to make it easier for children to receive healthcare from out-of-state providers who participate in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). The bill requires states to create a process allowing eligible out-of-state providers, who have been vetted for risk and enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid, to treat children under 21 without additional, burdensome screening requirements. These providers would be enrolled for a five-year period, unless they are terminated or excluded from participation. This change is intended to increase access to care for children.
