Bill overview
This bill changes the rules for hiring marriage and family therapists within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) who are also authorized to provide clinical supervision to other therapists. It requires these therapists to either hold a relevant master’s degree and be licensed or certified, and authorized to provide clinical supervision in their state, or be officially recognized as a supervisor by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. The goal is to ensure qualified professionals are overseeing the training and development of other therapists within the VHA.
