Bill overview
This bill changes how the Attorney General for the District of Columbia is selected. Currently, the Attorney General is elected by DC voters. This legislation gives the President the authority to appoint the Attorney General for a term that matches the President’s term in office, and this appointment does not require Senate confirmation. The bill also terminates the current Attorney General’s term upon enactment.
