Bill overview
The Enhance Access To SNAP Act of 2025 aims to make the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) available to more college students. Currently, there are restrictions on students’ eligibility, but this bill removes those limitations, allowing students attending institutions of higher education at least half-time to receive SNAP benefits. It also clarifies that students enrolled in these institutions should be considered individual households for SNAP purposes, subject to household limits. The bill seeks to restore a previous temporary exemption that expired during the COVID-19 pandemic.
