Bill overview
Gio’s Law aims to improve the safety of law enforcement officers and the public by providing grants for access to and training on epinephrine products. The bill establishes a grant program allowing states and local governments to purchase epinephrine auto-injectors and train officers on recognizing and administering them. It also mandates the development of standardized training curricula and requires the collection of data on epinephrine administration by law enforcement. Finally, the bill includes a public awareness campaign to educate the public about anaphylactic reactions and the role of first responders.
